
Medical Gas Classes: ASSE 6000 Training School
We offer three of the ASSE 6000 courses held at Mercury Medical corporate headquarters in Clearwater, FL. Classes are held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at select times of the year. The following materials will be used during the classroom portion of all three courses and will be provided by Mercury Medical.
- NFPA 99, 2015 Edition (book)
- ASSE Series 6000 Standards (book – Current Edition)
- NFPA 55, 2015 Edition (book)
- Paper, Highlighter and Pencil/Ink Pen
The courses are taught by an NITC ASSE 6050 Instructor with the following course descriptions:
ASSE 6010 Installer Course
The installer course applies to installers of medical gas piping and associated equipment. It is a 32-hour course which will provide an understanding of the ASSE 6010, NFPA 99, and NFPA 55. This course includes a practical and written exam.
IMPORTANT: YOU WILL NEED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS FOR USE DURING THE BRAZING SESSION (This will take place on Wednesday)
- 1 ea. 1-1/2” copper tube, type L 50” Long
- 10 ea. 1-1/2” copper couplings
- 1 lb. of filler material (must have minimum of 1 lb.)
NOTE: NO SHORTS OR SANDALS WILL BE ALLOWED, YOU WILL BE SENT HOME AND HAVE TO RE-TAKE THE CLASS.
FEE: $950.00 per person (non-refundable fee) and is due prior to the start of class. Lunch will be provided by Mercury Medical.
ASSE 6020 Inspectors Course
This course applies to those who inspect medical gas installations, engineers, state and local inspectors, and those who would like to know more about compliance within the medical gas field. This 24-hour course provides an understanding of the ASSE 6010, NFPA 99, and NFPA 55 and includes a written exam.
FEE: $800.00 per person (non-refundable fee) and is due prior to the start of class. Lunch will be provided by Mercury Medical.
ASSE 6040 Maintenance Course
It is now a requirement for facilities to have someone who has been certified under the ASSE 6040. This course applies to anyone who works at a facility where medical gas is maintained by the staff. Any scheduled shut downs, outlet repairs, preventative maintenance, or handling of related equipment, requires the ASSE 6040 certificate. It is a 32-hour course which will provide an understanding of the ASSE 6010, NFPA 99, and NFPA 55. This course includes a written exam and an additional instructional demonstration.
IMPORTANT: YOU WILL NEED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS FOR USE DURING THE OPTIONAL PRACTICAL SESSION (This will take place on Wednesday)
- Combination screwdriver
NOTE: NO SHORTS OR SANDALS WILL BE ALLOWED, YOU WILL BE SENT HOME AND HAVE TO RE-TAKE THE CLASS.
